Unknown Pleasures was Joy Divisions’ debut album released in 1979 on the famous Manchester record label Factory Records. It faired rather poorly upon release, selling only upon the success of the band’s 1980 single ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart.  Nevertheless, the album’s stark cover has become a modern classic featuring on a number of t-shirts.

Our Joy Division t-shirt is, of course, extra special, featuring a full body print of Peter Saville’s classic design. The image itself is apparently a measure of pulses from the first pulsar ever discovered. the image was originally found in the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Astronomy by drummer Stephen Morris. Peter Saville’s redesign produced a negative of the image.
