Pink Floyd have released quite a few albums in their five decades of existence but the comparatively small contribution of founding member Syd Barrett has continued to influence and position their work long after his personal involvement with the band ended. We have three new Pink Floyd t-shirts that reflect Syd Barrett’s unique contribution to one of the world’s biggest bands. First up is a See Emily Play t-shirt featuring the cover to the original 7″ single released in 1967. Together with the debut Arnold Lane, See Emily Play is one of Syd Barrett’s most commercially successful songs and this great official reprint of a 1967 Pink Floyd t-shirt reflects the playful nature of the song. The image includes a train (similar to the imagery found on the later Relics LP) with the words See, Emily, Play, Columbia, the EMI logo, and a catalogue number written in smoke clouds: Pink Floyd’s debut album was released in 1967 during the ‘Summer of Love’ and this Piper at the Gates of Dawn t-shirt features the original front cover photograph on a maroon t-shirt similar to the colour of the recent 40th anniversary reissues. The kaleidoscope effect used on Vic Singh’s photo has created one of rock’s most famous images: Finally we have a full body print of a Syd Barrett t-shirt featuring just the man himself with his famous mirrored Fender Esquire. This tee does little to dispel the drug myths that surround Barrett and his work: Check out our entire Pink Floyd t-shirt collection.
