Matt Smith, the eleventh Doctor Who, wears a bow tie. It is his scarf, his jelly baby, his piece of celery.  When asked why he wears such a decidedly uncool piece of attire his reply is a defiant ‘But bow ties are cool’. Of course he would be defiant if he had any thought that he may not be right; as such his repeated claim that bow ties are cool is making the statement slightly truer each passing week.
